Pradosha Puja On Trayodashi Thithi
PurePrayer presents an insight into the practices of Pradosha Puja performed during the evenings before sunset on the days with Trayodashi Thithi. Pradosha Puja is the worship offered to Lord Shiva in the twilight zone on the day of Trayodashi Thithi (13th day of the Hindu Panchangam) that occurs twice every month, seeking his benevolence and grace. Libations are offered to the Shivalingam with different Dravyas (materials like curd, ghee, milk, coconut water and so on) chanting Sri Rudram. Bilvapatra (Wood Apple leaves) Puja is offered chanting the Ashtottara Shatanamavali (108 names). Garlands are offered for decoration. Dattatreya Rama Rao Parvatikar lived in the premises of Badrinath Temple of The Himalayas. He was fondly called 'Veena Baaba' by his spiritual followers. He was born as the second son of Professor Rama Rao Parvatikar and Vatsala Bai on 1916 at Guledgudda, near Badami. He was keenly interested in Indian classical music and was a maestro of Rudra Veena. Vaikuntha Ekadashi of Margashiramaasa Shuklapaksham occurring on December 25, 2020 is a very important celebration for the devout Hindus of India. They visit Vishnu temples and pass through the Vaikuntha Dwaram (Vaikunth Dwar) on the day of Vaikuntha Yekadashi seeking the grace and benevolence of Lord Srimannarayana. According to Puranas, Lord Vishnu created a female form and called her Ekadashi in order to kill a demon Murasur. Lord Vishnu blessed Ekadashi with a boon that anyone keeping a fast on the day of Ekadashi and offering Pujas to him gets Salvation and attains Vaikuntha, the lord’s abode.
