Vaikuntha Ekadashi of Margashiramaasa Shuklapaksham occurring on December 25, 2020 is a very important celebration for the devout Hindus of India. They visit Vishnu temples and pass through the Vaikuntha Dwaram (Vaikunth Dwar) on the day of Vaikuntha Yekadashi seeking the grace and benevolence of Lord Srimannarayana. According to Puranas, Lord Vishnu created a female form and called her Ekadashi in order to kill a demon Murasur. Lord Vishnu blessed Ekadashi with a boon that anyone keeping a fast on the day of Ekadashi and offering Pujas to him gets Salvation and attains Vaikuntha, the lord’s abode.

Prathamaikadashi 2024 | Chaturmaasya
Prathamaikadashi (Meaning: the first Yekadashi) that occurs in the Shukla Paksha (the bright fortnight) of Ashadhamaas marks the beginning of a very important observation in the Hindu Sanatan Dharma. This is the beginning of Chaturmaasya. This also marks a very important time for Vaishnavaites or the followers of Lord Vishnu. From this day on, the saints, seers and Mathadipatis observe staying in one place. Ashadha, Shravana, Bhadrapada and Ashvayuja (Also called Ashvin) form the four months of Chaturmaasya.

Narasimha Jayanti or Narasimha Chaturdashi is an important festival in the Hindu Sanatan Dharma celebrated on the fourteenth day in the Shuklapaksham (bright fortnight) of Vaisakhmaas.
In 2020, Sri Narasimha Jayanti occurring on May 6. Vaisakh Shukla Chaturdashi will start at 11.21 pm on 5th of May and ends at 7.44 pm on 6th of May.
According to Vedic scriptures, Lord Narasimha appeared during the Pradosham (when sun is about to set) on Chaturdashi to slay the demon king Hiranya Kashipu and protect the boy Prahlad. Hence, Puja is performed at this time. Avatar of Lord Narasimha was to remove ‘Adharma’ (the path of wickedness) and bring the world to follow the path of dharma (the path of righteousness).
