What is Sri Rama Navami?
Sri Rama Navami or Ram Navami is an important festival to the devout Hindus and Ram Bhakts, that follows the Chandramana Ugadi and celebrated on the day of Chaitra Shukla Navami. Sri Rama Navami commemorates the birth of Lord Ram, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Ram Navami is celebrated throughout India, but it is a grand affair in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram. On this day, devotees throng to the Ram Temple and offer special prayers. Ramayan Path is recited and Bhajans are sung in praise of Lord Ram.
What is Thirumanjanam?
Thirumanjanam is done for deities. It is the process of bathing the deity with ingredients such as milk, curd, honey, tender coconut and many others. Deities are made of material like stone, metal or alloys.
Thirumanjanam is an elaborate bathing Puja procedure given to the deities or idols. This has many upacharams prescribed by Vaikhanasa and Paancharatra Agamas. It is accompanied by Pancha sooktams, Azhwar aruLiccheyalkals (Neeratta Paasurams of Periyazwar), Thirumanjana Kattiyams culminating in Yeera Vaadai with Tulasi garland.
The esoteric content of the dialog of the Jeevan (Jivatman) with the Perumal enacted at the final phase of Thirumanjanam with the Lord in wet Vastram and Tulasi Maalai has no comparison and said to capture the essence of Vishishtadvaita Tattvas.

Devotees also observe a fast on this day and break it only after offering special prayers to Lord Ram.
Abhishekam to Ram Parivar
Abhishekam is performed to Ram, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman on account of Sri Rama Navami seeking the grace and benevolence of the deities.
Importance of Ram Parivar
Rama Parivar or Ram Darbar is believed to be a symbolic representation of ourselves. Our body consists of the body, the mind, the intelligence, and the Atma or soul. Except for the Atma, the first three are easily seen and recognizable. The Atma or the soul (the divine spark in us) can only be inferred.
Lord Ram is treated as the Paramatma or the sacred Soul. Lord Lakshman represents the Sharira or the body. Mother Sita represents the Chitta or the intellect. Lord Hanuman represents the Buddhi or the Mind. Lord Bharat is the epitome of Dharma and Lord Shatrughna represents Karma.
