How Is Online Puja Performed?

After receiving, the request for a particular online puja to be performed, our purohit at Astropuja starts making arrangements for the same. We intimate the devotee with details of the puja like time, date. Since we cater to hundreds of clients, it is in fact in our best interest to adhere to our time schedule allocated to each client. Sometimes , a group of priests recite the mantras together so that the thousands of mantras are recited in a short and stipulated time period.
The priest performs all rituals and the customer (and /or his representative) watches the process live through Zoom, the link for which is provided to them. We encourage the devotees to be part of the ceremony, if possible and endure the divinity of the puja.
The puja begins by preparing the seat or asanas for invoking the Gods, Goddesses and Navagrahas, lighting a ghee lamp, undertaking the Swasti Vachhan seeking blessings for the devotee's wellbeing and reciting the Shanti Path or the Ved mantras. The purohit or priest then takes a ceremonial oath or Sankalp in the name of the person for whom the puja is being performed so that he can perform the puja rituals on behalf of the devotee.
Following the Sankalp, prayers are offered to Devi Ganga, Bhumi (Earth), Lords of all 10 directions, Lord Surya, Lord Ganesha, Kalash Dev, Goddess Lakshmi, Navgraha, Lord Brahma and Lord Agni.
Special mantras are recited for the puja's main God/ Goddess and specific rituals are performed for his/ her appeasement. A hawan (fire ritual) is performed in which a fixed number of offerings (aahuti) are made into the holy fire. A purnaaahuti is also performed at the end of the hawan which is the final offering made to Lord Agni Dev.
Thereafter an aarti is done for the Deity or the planet for whom the puja has been performed followed by few other rituals as prescribed in the sacred Vedic texts. This is followed by an aarti that is sung for the deity and sweets and flowers are offered at the feet of the deity as Prasad.
To mark the end of the rituals, all participating priests are offered food and dakshina in the form of fruits, clothes and money.
